Plotly is a team of Harvard, Stanford, and McGill alum building the world’s first real-time, collaborative data vis and analysis platform. Our headquarters is in the beautiful Mile End of Montreal.
What Python is used for:
We use multiple Python web frameworks and open-source libraries. We also provide Plotly users an online Python command line and sandbox. Through the Python sandbox, Plotly users process data uploaded to Plotly and create graphs, similar to how MATLAB and R are used. Securely running the code of Plotly users requires lots of fun engineering: Low-level interaction with the Python interpreter and a sophisticated jail on our servers.
